- 2025-07-21
The Seville Half Marathon continues making history and for the first time will reach 20,000 registered runners next January 25, 2026, after selling out all available bibs today more than six months before race day, something that had never happened before in its more than 30-year history.
The Seville Half Marathon 2026 once again breaks all its historical records year after year and reaches 20,000 registered runners for the first time, 3,000 more runners than in the 2025 edition. The race in Seville, which will take place on January 25, 2026, has sold out all available bibs more than 6 months in advance, and opens a waiting list on its official website mediomaratondesevilla.es to allocate any bibs that may become available.
The Seville half marathon attracts runners from around the world thanks to the advantages and beauty of its course, completely flat and ideal for achieving fast times or covering its 21,097 meters in the most accessible way. In the coming weeks some of the most anticipated updates will be revealed, such as the race shirt that the 20,000 registered runners will receive or the medals awarded to those who cross the finish line, as well as route changes due to construction works in the city and the optimization of the start and finish areas to improve flow for participants.
As has been the case in recent years, the Seville Half Marathon maintains steady growth in terms of participation, with 3,000 more than in 2025. The race featured 17,000 runners in 2025, 14,000 in 2024, 12,000 in 2023 and 10,500 in 2022. It is one of the flattest half marathons in Europe with only a 5‑meter elevation difference between its lowest and highest points, making it a very favorable course for achieving great times in the distance.
The Seville Half Marathon is organized by the Club San Pablo de Atletismo and Create Deporte, with the collaboration of the Municipal Sports Institute of the Seville City Council, Quirónsalud, Hoka as technical sponsor, and the sponsorship of Plátano de Canarias (the race is part of the Plátano de Canarias National Running Circuit) and Sprinter; and it features the collaboration of the official media Soy Corredor, Sport Life and ABC de Sevilla.
