SEVILLE HALF MARATHON 2026 REGULATIONS

ARTICLE 1. Purpose.

Medio Maratón de Sevilla Create SL organizes and promotes the 32nd edition of the Seville Half Marathon with the collaboration of CLUB DE ATLETISMO SAN PABLO, founder of the race, which will be held on November 29, 2026. Any person who is 18 years old on that date may participate, regardless of sex or nationality, provided they comply with the regulations of the RFEA, FAA, AIMS and World Athletics.

ARTICLE 2. Characteristics.

The course has a distance of 21,097 meters, officially certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and World Athletics. The Start and Finish are located on Paseo de las Delicias. It will take place on asphalt and paved surfaces.

The race will start at 09:00 hours, the maximum time allowed to complete the race will be 3 hours, with the finish line closing at 12:10 hours.

ARTICLE 3. Registration.

Registration: Fee, dates and number of bibs.

The registration period will run from February 20, 2026 to October 25, 2026 or until the 20,000 available bibs are sold out.

The registration fee will be as follows depending on the tier:

Waiting list: All runners registered from the waiting list will do so for a fee of 50€.

Participants must hold a federation license, or runner plus card, issued by the RFEA, Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, valid on race day. Participants who do not hold this accreditation prior to the race may purchase a one-day federation license during the registration process.

In the event that multiple or staggered starts are established, the rankings will be determined using the net time from the moment the runner crosses the Start line until the moment they cross the Finish line.

As the start will be staggered, the start times are established as follows:

  • WHEELCHAIRS, ELITE CORRAL AND CORRAL 1: 9:00H
  • CORRAL 2 AND 3: 9:05H
  • CORRAL 4 AND 5: 9:10H
  • CORRAL 6: 9:15H

The qualifying times for the start corrals will be indicated once the total number of registered runners has been established.

Discounts

A percentage of reserved entries with a 50% reduced price will be available for athletes with disabilities (33% or higher) or special financial difficulties: long-term unemployed (6 months) residents in the Municipality of Seville.

Conditions for reduced-price registration for athletes with disabilities:

  • Adults, 18 years old on race day.
  • Officially recognized disability level equal to or greater than 33%.
  • An official disability certificate must be attached directly to the online registration.

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in cancellation of the registration.

Conditions for reduced-price registration for long-term unemployed persons from 6 months onward:

  • Adults, 18 years old on race day.
  • Registered resident in the City of Seville.
  • Long-term unemployment status, from 6 consecutive months onward.
  • The unemployment certificate issued by the SAE (Andalusian Employment Service) indicating the duration of the application must be attached to the online registration.

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in cancellation of the registration.

There is a special section for clubs to register their runners jointly. The deadlines and prices are the same as for general registration. In the event registrations sell out, any unpaid club registrations will be canceled. Clubs must enter their tax information in the access request to the portal in order to complete registrations. The Organization reserves the right to request from the Club any information necessary regarding its establishment.

No modifications to said list will be accepted, and any subsequent registration will be considered as an independent runner.

In order to collect bibs as a Club, they must have a minimum of 5 registered members, and they will confirm the collective pickup at the bib collection expo for the entire group, indicating the person responsible who will attend when required by the organization.

Clubs will receive unified documentation in an envelope containing the list of registered runners, bib numbers, as well as the bibs for the different runners. It must be collected by an accredited representative who will sign for the collection of all documentation, upon presentation of the Organization's confirmation message and proof of payment.

Bib ownership.

Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of these regulations, as well as the purchase conditions.

Considerations.

The sizes of the commemorative garments will be distributed strictly in order of bib-chip collection and according to the size requested at the time of registration. The Organization does not guarantee being able to provide all participants with the requested shirt size, since shirt production begins well before the registration closing date.

Once the runner collects the runner's bag with their commemorative gift garment and leaves the runner's expo, the organization will understand the size as accepted and no exchanges will be made.

Refund policy

At the time of registration, a cancellation guarantee may be purchased for a cost of €4. It will entitle the holder to cancel and request a refund of 100% of the amount paid until November 1, 2026. After this date, no refunds will be made. The amount of this guarantee is non-refundable.

If the cancellation guarantee has not been purchased, it will also be possible to request a refund of the registration fee with a 50% penalty. The deadline to request a refund will be November 1, 2026. After this date, no refunds will be made.

ARTICLE 4. Bib number collection.

The bib numbers and race bag will be delivered exclusively at the Runner’s Expo, at a location to be determined with sufficient notice by the organization, on November 27 and 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 20:00, and cannot be delivered outside these dates and times under any circumstances.

FOR THIS EDITION IT WILL BE MANDATORY FOR PARTICIPANTS TO SELECT A DAY AND TIME FOR COLLECTION THROUGH THE REGISTRATION PLATFORM.

NO START CORRAL CHANGES WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING BIB NUMBER COLLECTION; SUCH CHANGES MUST BE REQUESTED THROUGH THE LINK THAT THE REGISTERED PARTICIPANT CAN FIND IN THEIR CONFIRMATION EMAIL BEFORE NOVEMBER 1. FOR SUCH A CHANGE IT IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE PROOF OF A TIME ACHIEVED IN AN OFFICIAL RACE DURING THE LAST THREE YEARS.

The rules governing the Runner’s Expo will be those determined by the organization, as well as those applicable to the facilities where it takes place, always with the aim of ensuring the safety of participants (capacity, security, pets...)

Bib numbers will not be distributed on race day, only on the days and times indicated in the previous paragraph.

To collect bib numbers, participants must present the payment confirmation email together with their ID document, both physical and digital formats accepted. Another person may be authorized to collect them, and must present the aforementioned documents together with express authorization from the holder and a photocopy or digital copy of the holder’s ID document.

ARTICLE 5. Categories.

Sub 20 M / F: Born in 2008 and 2009 (must be of legal age on race day)

Sub 23 M / F: Born from 2005 to 2007.

Senior M / F: Born from 2004 to M 35.

Master M 35 / F 35: From 35 to 39 years old

Master M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old

Master M 45 / F 45: From 45 to 49 years old

Master M 50 / F 50: From 50 to 54 years old

Master M 55 / F 55: From 55 to 59 years old

Master M 60 / F 60: From 60 to 64 years old

Master M 65 / F 65: From 65 to 69 years old

Master M 70 / F 70: 70 years old or over

Overall M / F: Includes all previous categories

ARTICLE 6. Trophies.

To the top three in the men’s, women’s and wheelchair overall standings.

Top three men and women in each category.

Trophy accumulation. Overall classification trophies are not cumulative with those from the other individual categories.

If men record a time over 65 minutes, the cash prize will be reduced by half.

If women record a time over 75 minutes, the cash prize will be reduced by half.

*The record prize will only be awarded to the winner (male and female) and will be cumulative with the rest of the prizes.

Cumulative with the overall prizes and only for the first-place finisher.

Expiration:

The collection period for trophies and gifts expires after 30 calendar days.

Award Collection:

To collect prizes, the race bib and identification of the winner by means of National Identity Document or similar official document will be required.

Regarding the amateur prizes for the remaining categories, the Organization informs that:

Once the official period of ten (10) business days from the holding of the race for the submission of incidents or claims that could modify the final standings has ended, athletes who finish among the top three (3) in their category must expressly request their trophy according to the following procedure:

  1. Standings verification

The interested party must verify their position in the official standings published on the event website: www.mediomaratondesevilla.es .

  1. Formal request

An email must be sent to info@mediomaratondesevilla.es with the subject “Request my trophy”, indicating full name, category and position obtained.

  1. Confirmation

The organization will verify the data and inform the interested party of the delivery procedure.

Delivery method

The trophy will be delivered according to the place of residence of the classified athlete:

  • Residents in Seville and province: in-person collection at the place and within the period indicated by the organization. (They will have 30 days to collect it from the notification)
  • Residents in mainland Spain (outside Seville): shipment by courier service managed by the organization.
  • Residents outside mainland Spain or abroad: the interested party must arrange and assume the international courier service once the availability of the trophy has been confirmed.

Request period

The deadline to request the trophy will be from December 14, 2026 to January 14, 2027.

After this deadline has passed without an express request, it will be understood that the athlete waives the prize, and no subsequent claim may be made.

ARTICLE 7. Results.

To appear in the results it is necessary to have passed all the checkpoints established by the Organization and judges.

The results are provisional until the judges declare them official.

Trophy accumulation

The prizes from the overall standings are not cumulative with those from the specific category in which the athlete participates.

The Organization may request proof from the winners of any data appearing in the registration application that could affect the standings.

The provisional results will be published on a board set up by the Organization next to the finish area and/or podium, these being the sole and exclusive responsibility of the members of the RFEA Judges Committee. They will also be published later on the official website.

Claims affecting positions in the prize-awarding classification must be submitted in writing to the Referee within a maximum period of 30 minutes from the publication of the results, who will attend to the claim.

Other claims must be sent in writing to the Organization's email info@mediomaratondesevilla.es, for the attention of the Referee, before the Wednesday following the holding of the race.

The Organization will communicate the Referee's resolutions within a maximum period of 10 days, from which the results will be considered final. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that moment.

ARTICLE 8. Bib placement.

Participants must wear the bib visibly on the chest, without altering, manipulating or folding it.

These bibs must be used as delivered, without cuts, folds or any concealment. They may be perforated to help air circulation, but the perforations must not be made in the characters or numbers appearing on them.

The bibs include a disposable chip, so they may not be folded, manipulated or altered in any way, including their advertising. Race time will only be recorded if the bib-chip is correctly placed on the front part of the torso or chest

No participant will be allowed to take part in the race if they do not wear the appropriate bib and identification.

ARTICLE 9. Prize withholding and disqualifications.

The Organization may withhold the delivery of prizes, trophies and gifts in the event of claims and if it is necessary to resolve them.

Grounds for disqualification will be:

  • Providing false personal data in the registration (name, surname, age…).
  • Not completing the full course.
  • Being overtaken by the race closing vehicles
  • Not passing through the checkpoints located on the course.
  • Not wearing the bib clearly visible on the chest or altering or concealing its advertising.
  • Running with the bib and/or chip assigned to another runner.
  • Not following the instructions of the judges and/or Organization staff.
  • Having given the bib to be photocopied and used by another runner.
  • Refusing to undergo doping control.
  • Displaying unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Starting in a corral different from the one assigned during registration
  • Any other punishable behavior included in the applicable federation regulations.

The race medical service and the referees are authorized to withdraw from the race any athlete showing poor physical condition.

Disqualified athletes will not be eligible for trophies or gifts.

The Organization reserves the right to ban participation, in successive editions, of those who are disqualified.

ARTICLE 10. Gifts and promotions.

All participants in the race will receive a commemorative garment and a runner's bag.

Race participants will benefit from the discounts and promotions that the Organization may agree with sponsors. Such agreements, if any, will be published on the race website.

To access the gifts it will be necessary to present the race bib and identify oneself with a National Identity Document or similar document.

The commemorative bag and garment will be available within the scheduled bib collection periods and upon presentation of the same.

The Organization cannot guarantee the availability of sizes because the production of the commemorative garments takes place prior to the completion of all registrations. Delivery will be made respecting what is indicated on the registration receipt while stocks last, at which point it may be replaced by another size, the delivered garment may not be exchanged once accepted by the runner nor will size changes different from those indicated in the registration be accepted.

The finisher medal will be awarded to runners who complete the race. The medal engraving service is optional and can be purchased during registration. The management of the medal engraving will be carried out by the company determined by the organization and will be responsible for the service at the finish line.

ARTICLE 11. Signage and aid stations.

The course will be signposted and supported by auxiliary personnel who will indicate turns or changes of direction.

Each kilometer point will be signposted.

There will be liquid aid stations at kilometer points 5, 10, 15, 18´5 and Finish.

The start line will be organized by delimited areas according to the expected finish times of the runners. To access the first corrals it will be necessary to prove the time achieved in races of similar characteristics.

ARTICLE 12. Medical services.

The race will have medical services consisting of an emergency medical team, mobile ICU and various advanced coordination teams in the number determined by the regulations. They will be located at the start line, at kilometer points 5, 10, 15, 18´5 and Finish. In addition and for greater safety, there will be medical service at the back of the race.

The Organization recommends that all participating athletes undergo a medical examination prior to the race, every participant accepts the risk derived from the sport activity of athletics.

Any athlete with health problems is obliged to notify the Organization beforehand and in writing, mark their bib with a red cross and state on it their name, address, telephone number and health problem they suffer from.

ARTICLE 13. General Services for Runners.

The Organization will make the following services available to runners:

  • Liquid aid stations at km 5, 10 (isotonic), 15, 18.5 and at the Finish.
  • Solid refreshments at the finish line.
  • Vehicle for collecting runners who wish to withdraw from the race and which will travel at the back of the race at a speed of 8 minutes per kilometer.
  • A bag drop at each access point and toilets, the Organization not being responsible for valuables deposited in the bag drop.
  • It is necessary that in order to use the bag drop and access the corrals, runners must
  • The Organization staff of the bag drop service may request, for security reasons and as a condition for admission, the opening of bags before deposit in order to supervise luggage and it must be delivered with the identification provided by the Organization stating the bib number, likewise it reserves the right of admission to guarantee safety and good order at the bag drop access points.

Luggage will not be returned without presentation of the corresponding bib.

Clothing or items that are not bagged will not be accepted.

A lost and found department will be set up and will operate until the facilities close. Recovered items will be available at the organizer’s headquarters until one week after the race.

Chip timing system.

ARTICLE 14. Vehicles.

The only vehicles authorized to follow the race are those designated by the Organization, which will be properly identified.

It is strictly forbidden to follow or accompany runners by motorcycle, bicycle, skates or any other vehicle in order to avoid any accidents.

The use of any wheeled device or apparatus during the race is not permitted except for the wheelchairs of disabled athletes, which must be approved by the RFEA and accepted by the Organization. The latter must wear a helmet at all times.

Participation accompanied by minors or animals is not permitted.

Sweep vehicle. The Organization will provide a sweep vehicle to be used by runners who do not wish to continue the race or who are forced to withdraw.

ARTICLE 15. Race control and order.

The control and order of the race will be entrusted to law enforcement officers and authorized Organization personnel acting under their instructions. Runners will be obliged to comply with the rules of these regulations and with the instructions adopted for safety reasons.

When a runner is not in sufficient technical or physical condition to maintain the scheduled pace, they will be passed by the closing vehicle and must withdraw from the race using the vehicles provided for this purpose. If they remain on the race course, they must comply with the rules and signs thereof, being considered another road user.

The organization will distribute access points and starting corrals to guarantee the safety of the participants.

No accompanying persons will be allowed access either during the established runner access schedule or during the race.

Once the maximum time established to complete the race has been reached, the finish line will be closed, applying the same criteria as in the previous point.

The maximum time established to complete the race is 3 hours; therefore, the competent authorities may request runners averaging slower than 8.5 minutes per kilometer to leave the course. From that moment on, any runner remaining on the course will do so under their sole responsibility and may be asked by local police to leave the course.

ARTICLE 16. Damages and liability.

The Organization has civil liability insurance to cover all liability for the effects, consequences or responsibilities arising from damages, both material and personal, that participants may cause during the race, to themselves, to other persons and even in the event that third parties cause damage to the participant, volunteer or Organization staff.

Likewise, the athlete declares that they are in optimal physical condition to take part in this race and do so under their own responsibility, releasing the Organization from any harm that their participation in the race may cause them. Registering for this race implies full acceptance of these rules.

ARTICLE 17. Suspension of the race.

The race will not be suspended due to adverse weather conditions unless there is a risk to the physical integrity of the participants or a civil emergency situation occurs. In this case, the Organization will act at the request of the competent authority and sports judges.

The Organization reserves the right to modify the course, both its route and total distance, schedule, as well as the possibility of postponing or suspending the event for safety reasons or force majeure, without this giving rise to claims for compensation or damages by registered participants.

ARTICLE 18. Warning and communication of medical risks.

Any runner with medical problems (allergies, special care, etc.) must wear on their bib a label or mark with a red cross in a visible place during the race; likewise, they must state on the back of the bib their name, address, contact telephone number and specific health problem.

For safety reasons, the runner will be obliged to communicate in writing and in advance the medical risk and their bib number to the Organization before the race is held.

The participant must continuously monitor their health status (including taking their temperature and monitoring any symptoms) from 14 days beforehand. Health checks prior to travel and competition are recommended for all registered athletes and Organization staff in order to ensure the identification of those persons with possible additional risks.

If required by the health authorities, proof of health status or vaccination may be requested. Likewise, medical tests prior to participation may be established as part of the COVID-19 control protocols.

ARTICLE 19. Waiver.

All participants, by taking the start, accept and sign the Waiver of Liability, assuming these Regulations and the Rules of the RFEA, IAAF and FAA. In case of doubt, the criteria of the Judges, the Race Management and the Organization shall prevail.

ARTICLE 20. Use of information.

All participants, by registering, accept the publication of their basic data (name, surname, bib number, club, gender and category) for the management of bibs and the race classification, and may appear in media and websites, as well as in official race photographs and videos. The data may be used by the Main Sponsor.

ARTICLE 21. Safety regulations and cancellation policy associated with Covid-19.

If the health situation caused by Covid-19 so requires, the measures deemed appropriate will be adopted, always under the protection of the competent authorities, to guarantee as much as possible the safety of both participants and their companions, spectators, sponsors and all personnel involved in the organization of the race (area managers, volunteers, suppliers, judges, media…).

The Start, Finish, aid stations, services and spectator areas may be subject to restrictions or modifications in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol determined by the authorities at the time of the race

Among the measures to be taken could be the reduction of the number of participants to a number considered safe for holding the race. In such case, participation rights would be associated with the order of registration, with preference given to the first runners registered.

If said health situation were to force the suspension of the race or the reduction of the number of participating athletes, affected runners would have different options: the option to defer their registration to the next edition in which the race is held or to request a refund of 80% of their registration fee to offset the refund and organizational expenses incurred.

DISCLAIMER

I declare that:

I know and fully accept the race regulations, as well as the rules of the RFEA, FAA, IAAF, AIMS, AEM and World Athletics.

I am in adequate physical condition and sufficiently trained to voluntarily participate in the race.

I do not suffer from any illness, disability or any other circumstance that could worsen or harm my health by participating in the race.

That, if I suffered from any illness, disability or any other circumstance that could seriously worsen or harm my health due to participation in the race, I would inform the Organization and accept the decisions adopted by the event officials.

I assume the risks derived from participation in the activity such as falls, collisions with vehicles, weather conditions, road conditions and traffic (this statement is indicative in nature).

I accept the decisions of the race officials (judges, medical staff and Organization technicians) regarding my fitness to complete the race safely and without health risks.

I authorize the Organization to use any photograph, filming, recording or any other form of record of my participation in the event, without entitlement to compensation.

I accept that the Organization reserves the right to make any modifications necessary for the better management and development of the race.

In the event of registering other people, I have informed them about the event, and I have their authorization and acceptance of these clauses.

DATA PROTECTION

In compliance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection, you are informed that the personal data collected in this form will be incorporated into the automated file Medio Maratón de Sevilla “, owned by the company Medio Maratón Sevilla Create SL and the Asociación Deportiva Atletismo san Pablo. The purpose of this file is the management of the Medio Maratón de Sevilla event and communication with attendees for its different editions, authorizing the publication of first and last names in the corresponding results lists. Your personal data will only be used under the terms provided by current legislation, for the aforementioned purpose and to communicate updates regarding this event. If you wish, you may exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection recognized by the aforementioned Organic Law by writing to the following address: Create, acción creativa de eventos SL, POL.
